Tell us a bit about your business:
I'm a fashion and advertising photographer based in Cape Town

How long have you worked as a photographer?
+- 10 years

Do you feel it was an instant success or did it take a while to find its feet?
Haha, It was like 8 years of not eating before I saw any success at all. Photography is definitely a long-game ocupation.

If any, what kind of jobs did you have before your career took off?
I worked for an advertising agency shooting all kinds of things.  I then went on to working for Woolworths as an in house photographer for there online department.

Do you feel that you chose your "passion," or did it choose you?
It chose me!

What made you decide to follow a creative career choice (though possibly risky) rather than something more stable?
I didn’t really make a conscious decision.  I was just obsessed with photography, so it kind of happened organically from there.

Have you ever doubted your talent? If so, how did you work through your doubt?
Every day. You just try look at the bigger picture and see how far you have come.

What is your favourite accomplishment?
It would be shooting for Leica S magazine With the Leica S while in Germany.

Tell us about any workshops you may offer:
I have teamed up with the Orms School of photography to do a workshop called from brief to billboard.  In this workshop I go through everything involved in the process of booking a client in fashion and advertising photography.

Im also thinking of starting smaller ones at my studio in Woodstock to fit In between the larger ones at Orms School of photography.

Where should Working Creatives get more info on workshops / your offerings?
On my Instagram or Facebook page

What is your favourite lens and why?
My trusty Nikon 24-70mm 2.8 as it fits the way I shoot and my style perfectly and only in rare occasions where I can’t get that close I'll move over to a 70-200mm

Are you working on any out of the ordinary projects at the moment?
Im working on my film project witch is shot with a Mamiya RB67 on medium format film.  It has been years in the making and I’m not anywhere close to finishing it. One day I would like to exhibit it.

What is playing in your CD player/iPod right now?
Random stuff on spotify

What’s your favourite ’90s song?
Nirvana - smells like teen spirit like everyone else

What do you think about when you’re alone in your car?
Everything all at once.

What were you like in high school?
A shit! : )

Knowing what you know now, what would you tell your high school self?
Don’t listen to the people that say once you are out of school you will wish you could go back. You will never think that.
