Boudoir Photographer - Golden Fox

Your business name:
Golden Fox

Tell us a bit about your business:
With Golden Fox I wanted to move away from the cliché of boudoir photography and revolutionize this genre into intimate lifestyle photography, empowering woman to be confident in themselves and their bodies, creating an uplifting feminine experience in a comfortable and real environment that best signifies them.

With every client I tailor make the shoot to them and their style.  I see what angles, light and poses will best suit their body shape, to highlight what they are confident about.  I help them prepare for the shoot by sending them outfit inspiration as well as tips on what to prepare or do before the shoot so that they are confident and shoot ready.  The goal is to create an uplifting, confidence building femine experience in the comfort of their home, where they can celebrate themsleves and feel empowered.

How long have you worked as a photographer?
6 Years

Do you feel it was an instant success or did it take a while to find its feet?
To change a stigma about something is extremely hard to do, I set out to change the cliche of boudoir photography to make it an uplifting empowering experience for all woman of all ages and sizes.  I really saw potential in this genre, but i wanted to revolutionise it.  I wanted  a safe enviroment where they can be themselves, and not feel pressured to be something else.  Golden Fox is not just boudoir it an experience where woman of all ages realises the confidence in themselves this is created to empower woman through an uplifting femine experience.

Golden Fox represents more than just great photos, it's a movement where woman change the way they see body confidence and themseles.

So all of this took time to develop into this full concept that Golden Fox is today.  I saw what these shoots were doing and by the testimonial I received I saw what a powerful concept this is.

If any, what kind of jobs did you have before your career took off?
I was a spa manager for 7 years and the i worked as an educator for Dermalogica the skin care brand.

Do you feel that you chose your "passion," or did it choose you?
I have always been a very creative person , taking art at school and being interested in photography from a young age. When I was in the beauty industry, I helped clients better their problematic skin.  By improving their skin, I wanted them to feel good about themselves and have confidence again, so through Golden Fox I still want to do the same - I want woman to see their beauty through my camera and  using the right posing techniques, angles and light every woman can showcase their best and start focusing on the positive rather than the  negative.  So in all I love making people feel good about themselves so I would describe that as my passion.

What made you decide to follow a creative career choice (though possibly risky) rather than something more stable?
In life you should always push yourself to be the best version of yourself, you won’t become that person if you always stay with the stable, you need to take calculated risk in order to learn more about yourself, it’s the hardest thing in life to just believe in yourself and go for it, many people never have the courage to do so but then they never push themselves.  I wanted to push myself, I knew if I worked for myself everything depended on me.  If I work harder, I gain more,.  If I slack, I don’t gain. but I’m a hard worker so I knew it would work.

I don’t ever recommend just leaving a stable job the one day and the next day just starting your creative job, it all takes time, it takes alot of hard work and commitment.   I worked for two years in two jobs, Dermalogica during the week and on weekends weddings and Golden Fox shoots, until it came to a point where my shoot booking increased.  Only then did I move over to working for myself.

Have you ever doubted your talent? If so, how did you work through your doubt?
Yes, of course, but as you shoot more, the more your style develops, it  doesn’t just come over night. You research and you work towards developing  your own style and to project a feeling in your images.

What is your favourite accomplishment?
